Treasurer’s report Hazel changing bank mandates so no exact bank balance, but apart from £80 in fees waiting to be banked, has not changed since last reported. Membership fees were due on 1st April from everyone except those who have joined in the last 11 months. Please can you let Hazel Warr at La Casa Vecchia or Carol Williams at Godfrey C. Williams Deli have payment (£20) cash or cheques made payable to Sandbach Traders & Retailers.
Alfresco Licence Cllr Lowe reported on the meeting with Kevin Melling (CEC officer) that she and Cllr Moran attended. Points raised again: One size doesn’t fit all towns (Macclesfield & Knutsford both have different shops and a higher footfall than Sandbach); The Portas report recommends provision of alfresco dining: enforcement rather than licence; additional costs for provision of barriers; seasonal licence; determine charge according to population size of town. Review now being undertaken with feedback in autumn
SUFC Community open day via email from Andy Mcmorine. Over 2500 community members on site during the day. Local businesses and schools were well represented and with the fantastic weather a very successful day.
Late night Shopping and Christmas Market Will be held on Friday 30th November 2012. Theme as last year Handmade, homemade, home grown, fairly traded. Indoor market will be open for traders and charity stalls, with more traders on Little Common. If anyone knows of Roast chestnut seller or has links to Ice Rink provider please inform Secretary. Christmas lights committee will help this year with stall lights. Carolyn needs to know which shops participating in Late night opening by early September for advertising purposes
Diamond Jubilee Celebrations The Town Council have received lots of positive feedback (letters and emails) from the public about the various events held in Sandbach over the Diamond Jubilee weekend. Events were well attended by the community. Comments received on The Taste of Sandbach event – a pity there were only a few stalls. With initially 22 stalls due to take part this went down to 16 and then 11 with only days to go before the event. Dot Flint has sent a questionnaire to participants. It was suggested we canvas those who backed out to see what could be learnt for future events.
